Admissions

All you need to know about applying for a place in our nursery

Kate Greenaway is a London Borough of Islington Nursery.  We work to the Islington Council’s Admissions Policy, our staff are employed by the Council  and our fee charges are set by Islington Council.

We operate a ‘criteria list’ rather than a waiting list. This means we aim to allocate places to families that have requested the days/hours that the available place includes. The amount of time your application has been with us does not effect your likelihood of being offered a place.

Admissions News

Updated July 25 - Dear Families,

🌟 Discover Childcare That Works for You – Supported by Islington Council 🌟

Looking for flexible, affordable childcare that fits your family’s needs? Great news! Starting this September, parents of children aged 9 months and a term can access 30 hours of free childcare per week during term time – that’s a generous 1,140 hours per year – simply by using your working entitlement code.

please visit: Childcare choices

Want to spread your hours across the year?

Islington Council offers a “stretched offer” – perfect for families who prefer consistent childcare throughout the year. Instead of using your 1,140 hours over 38 term-time weeks, you can spread them across 49 weeks, over 2 days.

✅ Choose two dedicated days:
Monday & Tuesday or Thursday & Friday
✅ No holiday charges – just your funded hours
✅ For children under 3, food charges aren’t covered by the funded hours. These will be calculated based on your household income. Children over 3 will be charged for lunch during the holidays.

You can get in touch by calling on 02075274850 or emailing Kategreenaway.eyc@islington.gov.uk
